Temple Student Government Basic Needs Scholarship

Food and housing insecurity among college students is a national problem. At Temple, 35 percent of our undergraduate students are food-insecure. Temple Student Government wants to address this and take action by helping support our peers. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help a student pay for a meal plan and other living expenses.

We will award the scholarship to a student with demonstrated financial need and a minimum GPA of 2.5. Your gift of any amount will help us reach our goal of $5,000 so we can award this scholarship to a student in need next semester.

Over the year, Temple Student Government has worked to raise awareness on food and housing insecurity among college students. Last semester, TSG ran our first Campus Hunger Awareness Week in order to raise more awareness about food insecurity as well as the resources Temple provides.
