Support Disability Resources and Services

The steady increase in students with disabilities from 50 in 1977 to around 3,500 in 2020 (nearly 10% of the student body) is a credit to Temple’s program of accessibility and services. The university remains rooted in its commitment to student services, engagement and leadership, and Disability Resources and Services (DRS) continues to advocate for full access in all aspects of the student experience.

DRS recently relocated to the Howard Gittis Student Center South into a renovated and expanded office space with accessible technology and furniture. Additionally, newly designed residence halls on Main Campus feature a variety of accessible room options. Student organizations from the SHOUT to Eye to Eye give a voice to disability pride and advocacy at the university. Disability Resources and Services strives to create a learning community that values people with diverse abilities and demonstrates through its actions a deep commitment to the full inclusion of all its members.

You can help keep Temple a great place to learn and grow for students of all abilities with a donation to Disability Resource and Services. Your gift will support the ongoing effort to create a more accessible Temple, as well as provide funding for student-run programs for Owls with disabilities.
