More Ways to Give

You Understand How Philanthropy Unleashes Potential

You are proud of Temple’s past. You want to be part of our future. But what is the best way to invest?

Below are examples of different ways of giving to Temple. Through each, you can help us provide an ever richer education, broaden access for more motivated students, continue our groundbreaking research, support a stellar faculty, and realize a revitalized campus.

Our gift officers are here to help you understand all of your options, and to support you in a decision that honors your philanthropic priorities. However you choose to invest in Temple, you play a key part in our continuing rise.

Term/Immediate-Use Funds

These gifts allow Temple the flexibility to direct funding where it will have the greatest impact. Funds are distributed over a specified timeframe, and begin to benefit the university right away by helping us meet immediate needs and take advantage of new opportunities.

Endowed Gifts

The most permanent of gifts, an endowed fund keeps giving back. Its principal is invested in the university’s endowment, while the fund generates a reliable and perennial source of funding for a purpose of your choosing. Many donors choose to create a named endowed fund to leave their own lasting Temple legacy, or to honor someone special.

Memorial and Honorary Gifts

Or to give by mail, indicate the name of the person(s) being honored and, if desired, the mailing address of the honoree or family member (so that we may notify them of your thoughtful gesture) and send with your check payable to Temple University to:

Gifts of Stocks and Mutual Funds

Giving appreciated stocks or mutual funds is a great way to support excellence at Temple that unlocks extra value for you compared with making a gift of cash. The financial benefits to you are twofold. First, you avoid the capital gains taxes you would have to pay if selling these appreciated assets. Secondly, you receive an income tax deduction based on the market value of the gifted stock or fund. For Temple, the full value gift goes toward students, faculty, and programs.

Coordinator
