For geology students, field camp is essential to their education, providing valuable hands-on experience. Students use the training gained in the lab and in the classroom and apply it to real-world geologic situations. Student then take the skills they learn in field camp and bring them to their first jobs.

Every summer, geology students attend geology field camps around the country through different universities to fulfill their degree requirements. At this time, Temple cannot offer summer field camps for students. Therefore, it is up to the students to enroll and fully fund this component of their curriculum. Your gift will help make it easier for students to take this off-campus course, a culminating and fundamental experience for the geology major.

Your gift will also honor Dr. Gene Ulmer. Professor Gene Ulmer, a tireless advocate for EES students for 39 years, died in 2015. Your OwlCrowd gift will honor his legacy and support the Gene C. Ulmer Student Support Fund, which helps undergraduates pay for field camp.
