GOAL INCREASED! $5,000 will send five students to the American Chemical Society National Meeting

Help five Temple University Chemical Society members attend the 2016 American Chemical Society National Meeting. The Temple University Chemical Society is one of the most active student organizations in the College of Science and Technology, offering chemistry and biochemistry students opportunities to network with professionals and work with local schoolchildren. In fact, TUCS has earned an award for three straight years from the American Chemical Society (ACS) for being among the most active ACS student chapters in the country. Each year, TUCS members use their own funds to travel to and attend the ACS National Meeting. That gets expensive, and severely limits the number of students who can go. With our new goal of $5,000 raised through OwlCrowd, five TUCS members can attend this year’s ACS meeting in San Diego, March 13 -17, 2016. ACS is the world largest gathering of chemistry researchers and professionals. At ACS, TUCS members can meet top researchers, get interviewing tips, learn about graduate schools and network with other chemistry student groups from across the country. That experience means a leg up in graduate school admissions or employment. When TUCS attendees return to campus, they will share that experiences and knowledge with everyone in the chapter and with the more than 600 chemistry and biochemistry majors at Temple University. Attending ACS is an important moment in the life of a chemistry undergraduate. Your support will give five TUCS students an opportunity to learn from chemistry leaders and represent a rising Temple University on a national stage.
